Cookie Policy
Last updated:
This policy explains what guardinotechnologies.com stores on your device, why, for how long and how you can remove it. In short: one strictly necessary cookie for your language, no advertising or tracking cookies, and analytics that store nothing on your device. That is why the site shows no cookie banner.
1. What is a cookie
A cookie is a small text file that your browser stores for a website and sends back with each request to it. Browser storage such as sessionStorage keeps data on your device in a similar way. This policy covers both.
2. The one cookie we set: NEXT_LOCALE
NEXT_LOCALE remembers the language you use this site in (en, tr, de or ar). It is strictly necessary and first-party: only guardinotechnologies.com sets and reads it, and it lasts one year. It is set on your first visit, when we send you to the language version for your region, and again whenever you choose a language in the language menu. It holds nothing but the language code and is never used to identify or track you.
3. Analytics without cookies
We count visits with Umami, an open-source analytics tool that we host ourselves. Its script and the data it sends run through this same domain (under /tfc), so your browser does not contact a third-party analytics service. Umami sets no cookies and stores no identifier on your device. We see aggregate figures such as page views, referring sites, country, browser and device type, plus a few events such as a form having been sent (never your details or message). We do not build profiles or track you across other sites.
4. sessionStorage in the project brief
The project brief at /start keeps your unsent answers in your browser's sessionStorage, so a reload or a step back does not lose them. They stay on your device, reach us only when you send the brief, and are deleted when you close the tab; you can also clear them in the form at any time. After sending, a short summary is kept in the same place for the confirmation page.
5. Why there is no consent banner
Consent to store or read information on your device is required only when that is not strictly necessary for a service you have asked for (Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive and the national rules implementing it). The language cookie and the brief's sessionStorage serve functions you use directly, our analytics store nothing on your device, and we use no advertising, social media or cross-site tracking cookies. No consent banner is therefore required for these under the ePrivacy rules, the GDPR or KVKK. If we ever add anything that needs your consent, we will ask for it before anything is stored and update this policy.
6. How to delete the cookie
You can delete NEXT_LOCALE at any time in your browser settings (usually under cookies or site data for guardinotechnologies.com) or block cookies for this site altogether. The site keeps working without it: you may be sent to the language version for your region again on your next visit, and you can switch languages from the menu. Closing the tab clears the brief's sessionStorage; clearing site data removes it at once. Questions about this policy: privacy@guardinotechnologies.com.
